Classroom Usage
I think there are a variety of uses for blogs in the education world. I would use one to collaborate with my third grade teaching team to correlate lessons. I could also see myself using one to keep parents updated and informed on what is going on the classroom, what is coming up, important dates, etc. I don't know of a lot of ways to incorporate a blog into my classroom with the students. At the 3rd grade level it might be a challenge to have them try to use it to communicate with others. We could blog as a class however, which would prevent issues concerning internet safety.

I agree that this would be something that would be a little challenging to do with third graders, but you have done a nice job of coming up with an alternative such as blogging together. I also like the idea of using it as communication with/for the parents. Great ideas!
ReplyDeleteI can see this being blocked in some districts, due to internet safety. However, it could be a great tool to communicate with parents, as long as they all have internet access.
ReplyDeleteKeeping parents informed would be a great way to use this. Kids could add notes to their parents!!
